Our direct care staff focus on supporting each of the individuals to live healthy, meaningful, engaged lives with as much independence as possible. This includes supporting their choices in terms of personal goals and aspirations. The specifics range from supervising/assisting each individual in all areas of daily living (personal care, household chores, shopping, transportation, health and wellness activities) to supporting these individuals in developing and maintaining relationships and participating in leisure activities of their choosing.
A current driver's license and available vehicle is required.
ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OR COURSE OF RELATED STUDY IS REQUIRED
CPR/First Aid and MAP are mandatory certifications that are needed to be obtained within the first 6 months of hire.
Nexus provides all training and certifications for newly hired employees.
Relief
Nexus is looking for energetic, experienced, creative professionals to fill in as relief staff in all seven of our residential homes.
As relief, you have the flexibility to tell us when you are available to cover shifts. Our homes are staffed 24 hours a day, except when the individuals are away from the house at their day programs. Nexus has awake and asleep overnight shifts.
Responsibilities include supporting the individuals in all activities of daily living, including health and wellness, working on ISP goals, facilitating social/recreational opportunities and community access, medication administration and compliance with all relevant documentation and DDS requirements.
Current CPR/First Aid is required
MAP certification is ideal.
A current driver's license and available vehicle are required
