A brief history of NExus, Inc.

Nexus, Inc. was established in 1972 as a non-profit corporation, pursuant to Chapter 180 of the General Laws of Massachusetts.  The founding members were a group of professionals in the field of special education who were excited by the prospect of providing residential services for people with intellectual disabilities outside of the institutions that were the predominant service model at the time.

Our mission remains the same today as it was in 1972; to provide quality services to the people that we serve. Services that fully integrate our people into the community.  Our programs attempt to improve the quality of life, by increasing their individuality and choice while also expanding their opportunities.
